Dear blog readers!
We are deeply sorry for not having updated the blog lately. Of course there are no acceptable excuses for this kind of behaviour. So it is due to a change in our work situation;

• We have left the phase where we were trying to sort out what’s happening in this field and moved along to collect the raw material that will make up the backbone of the report. We have been to the fish market every day this week, trying to get hold of suitable respondents, and running interviews. Our first interview had an audience of about 50 persons. That was some show!
• Cecilia and Lina has arrived her in Dar. They occupy flat three, which is rather close to our flati. They are also doing a minor field study here in Dar, though within the area of micro financing.
• In our strive to be more considerate about our trip economy we have found a new way to success, we attend places with free food and drinks! For example Celtel (a mobile operator) had a big launch of their new Celtel One network that brings together Celtel networks in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda into one network. A very nice happening, Jonas even got the opportunity to chitchat a bit in Italian, this contributed to the success of the evening. Another event was the after work at a local bar, since we were first timers we were not allowed to buy any rounds. Here we had the opportunity to chitchat with the ICT potentates of Dar es Salaam, a true pleasure to be frank.
• The previous five-days-a-week power cut schedule have now moved to a seven-days-a-week power cut schedule, a fact that can be hard to understand by just reading. So if you try to imagine yourself only use electricity during evening and night time to start with, and then randomly access it during daytime, then you might get a little closer to our reality.

Africa is very different from Europe, so text only can’t describe our adventures, therefore we would die to share some pictures with you.
