Dear readers!
We hope you all have accepted our excuses because now we have some new stories to enlighten you all with. These could be good to have in front of the open fire, now when the fall is coming.
The night before the day before yesterday, two young men were having their beauty sleep, as the kids do it these days. When the clock turned 1am, they both woke up by a sudden, looking at each other wondering if the fire alarm had sat of. Luckily there was no fire, not even a night working daladala, it was only the phone ringing. Jonas who had the phone closest by picked up and in the other end he found our first respondent. He told us that they during the last week, when we had made interviews, they had been out fishing and talking about us soo much. Now when they finally came back he wanted to invite us to his house for dinner. Jonas said that we should think about it and that we could meet in the morning down at the fish market to set the details, rather than doing it at 1am at night.
When the first waves of suspiciousness had gone away and we actually realised that we were invited to a Tanzanian home we started to plan what to bring and how to act and so on. In our preparation we read the guide books, asked around how to act and what was expected from us. Filled up with thrill and some nervousness we went to the meeting point as agreed at 7pm. It was an adventure from the start till the end; it is hard to put words on the feelings. But in conclusion they were very nice and we had an evening that will stay in our minds for a long time.
Another great story we would like to bring to you is our weekend plans. Previous weekends it has been beaches and sun so now we thought it would be in place for a change. We are going on a road trip! For your acknowledgement Lars had a road trip this spring as well, but at another continent. So now we are waiting impatiently to start our 1500 km drive across Tanzania. We will most likely travel in something else than a -91 Chevrolet and also probably get some other views than offered from road 45 down towards Göteborg. At this early stage, two days in advance, we haven’t the faintest clue how this trip will work out. The information that has reached us so far is:
-departure Saturday, no time yet
-travel through Serengeti
-the car has a/c
-in the passenger list we find, Erick and Ophelia
An independent source also recommended us to keep track of our bowel since the road could be quite rough. So hopefully we will have some great stories from the road!
Keep travelling the world!
Love!
Jonas&Lars
